The Gentle Blooms

The blooms I stumbled upon at the
bird park deserved a post on its own,
understated with pale pink or white
petals tinted with purple they grew
along the path seeking shade away
from the bright sun. I have always
enjoyed their simple quadruple
structure, but this was the first
time I realized they have a scent,
so delicate a fragrance one would
only know when in their presence
for several minutes. A faint but
delightful perfume, not fruity or
sweet but one that evoked a
Spring or early Summer day.
