Spring about the Neighborhood

I don't know why it took me so long to share this,
this discovery of Spring while wandering about
the neighborhood... perhaps if the pictures were
to stay hidden just a little bit longer the season
of Spring would prolong that much longer too...

Rhododendrons blooming in February, early
February as I recall. The last time they flowered
this early was 5 years ago. Crocuses and snowdrops,
the usual suspects to welcome the first season of
the year, peeked out from underneath just about
every bush and tree I could see, out of the thawed
underground and into the sun. What a delightful
discovery that February day! The thought that with
all those pretty colors that Spring has finally arrived!
